Report on Jalsa Salana Bangladesh – 2004

By the Grace of Almighty Allah the three-day 80th Jalsa Salana of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jam’at Bangladesh was ended on January 18, 2004 with great zeal, enthusiasm and by paying Gratitude to Rabbul Alameen. Despite various obstacles and strong anti-Ahmadiyya movement by a corner of Mullahs and the Government’s recent order on banning Ahmadiyya Publications, the Jalsa was a very successful one. About three thousand participants from different local Chapters of the Jam’at attended the Jalsa. The morale and spirit of each and every member of the Jam’at was very high.

Nawab Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Wakil-ut-Tabshir, attended the Jalsa as the Special Representative of Hazrat Ameerul Muminine Khalifatul Massih V (ATBA). Br. Zinda Mahmood Bajwa, the National Secretary of External Affairs, and Br. Hasan Hakim, the Publication Secretary of our USA Jam’at, and Advocate Mujib-ur-Rahman sahib from Rawalpindi also attended the Jalsa. Br. Hakim is also the President of Zion Jam’at, the place of Alexander Dowie - the fulfillment of the Grand Prophecy of the Promised Messiah Alaihissalam. Their presence gave an extraordinary impact in the Jalsa Salana.

The Inaugural session was started after Jum’a prayer on January 16. This session was a very memorable one. About 10 distinguished Guests spoke in the session and expressed their good wishes, all-out support and sympathy to the Jam’at. They condemned the ongoing anti-Ahmadiyya movement and the Govt. decision for banning Ahmadiyya Publications and demanded immediate withdrawal of the decision. The President of Bangladesh Workers Party Rashed Khan Menon, President of Bangladesh Socialist Party Mainuddin Khan Badal, General Secretary of Communist Party of Bangladesh Mujahidul Islam Selim, Retired Justice and Human Rights Activist K.M. Sobhan, Writer-Journalist Shahriar Kabir, Chairman of the Department of World Religion of University of Dhaka Dr. Kazi Nurul Islam, Human Rights Activists Barrister Sara Hossain, Dr. Faustina Pererra and Advocate Sultana Kamal were among them.

Br. Z.M. Bajwa and Br. Hasan Hakim from US Jam’at expressed their solidarity and said that two hundred million Ahmadi brothers and sisters of 180 countries are with the suppressed Ahmadis of Bangladesh with their prayers and all out support. Br. Hakim also delivered a very wonderful speech on the Fulfillment of the Grand Prophecy of Promised Massiah Alaihissalam on Alexander Dowie.

The three-day Jalsa was also addressed by : Mukarram Nawab Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Wakil-ut-Tabshir, National Ameer Mubashsherur Rahman, Former National Ameer Ahmad Taufiq Choudhury, Naib National Ameer-I Prof. Dr. Tarik Saiful Islam, Naib National Ameer-II Prof. Meer Mubashsher Ali, Murabbian-e- Silsila Maulana Abdul Awal Khan Chowdhury, Maulana Saleh Ahmad, Maulana Bashirur Rahman and others on the following subjects : Khilaft-e-Ahmadiyya, Khataman Nabiyyeen (S) and Ahmadiyya Jam’at, Islam and Other Religions, Tolerance in Islam, Spirit of Sacrifice, The Financial System in Islam etc.
